Two young pitchers on the verge of making the big leagues and in talks to be part of the 2020 Blue Jays rotation are going to be part of the September call-ups with rosters expanding.

Kay, 24, was part of the return for Marcus Stroman from the New York Mets and has been able to completely dominate for Triple-A Buffalo since coming over to the Toronto organization. Through seven starts and a total of 36 innings pitched, Kay has been able to keep a 2.50 ERA while striking-out 9.8 batters per nine.
He’s been struggling with the control since being promoted up to the highest minor-league level, averaging 5.5 walks per nine with Buffalo and 3.16 BB/9 while still in the Mets organization. All will be tested once he makes his major-league debut later this month.
Zeuch was a first-round selection by the Blue Jays back in 2016 and at 24-years-old, he should be nearing a big-league opportunity anyway and has certainly earned that. Highlighted by a no-hitter a couple weeks ago, his first season in Triple-A has featured a total of 13 starts …
