Left-handed reliever Matt Gage is with the Blue Jays in Kansas City

Per Arden Zwelling, left-handed reliever Matt Gage has traveled to Kansas City for the upcoming series against the Royals. He is expected to be activated before tonight’s game but it will require roster moves.

Gage, in his first season in the Blue Jays organization, is having a breakout year in AAA Buffalo. Through 16 appearances with the Bisons, he has a WHIP of just .900 and an ERA of 1.08. He has pitched a total of 16.2 innings, striking out 21, walking five, and is yet to give up a home run.
With Tim Mayza out since May 14th with a forearm injury, Gage provides a much-needed left-handed arm in the bullpen. Andrew Vazquez is the only lefty currently active, and he has struggled giving up eight earned runs in his eight appearances thus far.
