As the flashback plays out, we see what made Lowry the man he is today. It’s a simple scene of betrayal — but it’s powered him all the way to the present moment. Lowry is still in that old moment, remembering the night after the job in the motel room. The loot was in play, the future was bright — and then Stockton and his goons took it all away. Conley made it out, but so did Lowry. And he never forgot.
