Three teams the Toronto Raptors want to face and three they want to avoid

The reigning and defending NBA Champions, the Toronto Raptors, are being disrespected with Las Vegas betting odds at +2400x for the Raptors to repeat. However, the Raptors are currently second-best in the NBA’s Eastern Conference and third overall in the NBA. As a top-five team in the NBA, there are three teams the Toronto […]

The NBA Champions, the Toronto Raptors followed up their stellar 2019 season with a  71.9% win percentage through 64 games of the 2019-20 season. Series Preview: Partying like it’s 1993

The Blue Jays are currently being overshadowed by the NBA champions, Toronto Raptors. However, their parade will likely help bring some cheerful fans into the Rogers Centre during the opener of this four-game series. It also helps that the Blue Jays’ bats finally woke up in their finale against the Astros.
The team that shared their stadium with the Raptors for many years, recorded five home runs last game against the Astros. This Angels pitching staff has surrendered the 5th-most home runs in the AL so far this month. Which means there should be a lot of souvenirs for the celebrating fans in the stands.
Monday at 7:07 ET
Surprisingly, Edwin Jackson was actually able to earn a victory even with his remaining days numbered with the Blue Jays. The German-born pitcher pitched five-innings against the Orioles, and gave up a season-low four hits and two runs. This was also the first-time the Blue Jays used an opener in front of Jackson this season, and it may have actually helped him be more effective in this start.
However, Jackson was going against an awful Trash Birds lineup, that currently creates little to no offense. Which can’t be said about this …

Should the Jays be in on Blake Swihart?

The Boson Red Sox are in flux right now, as the defending champions are currently sitting in a tie with the Blue Jays for last in the American League East with a 6-11 record. After a humiliating loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday afternoon, the Red Sox designated catcher/outfielder Blake Swihart for assignment, opening room to recall Sandy Leon from Triple-A.

Wonder if Ben Cherington, who drafted Swihart, would think he’s worth a shot. Maybe move him to a corner outfield spot full-time and give him a run? https://t.co/l3al6gjEiY

I generally wouldn’t do a post discussing a random player on the DFA wire, but Swihart has an interesting connection with the Blue Jays. He was selected with the 26th overall pick in the 2011 draft by the Red Sox back when Ben Cherington was the organization’s senior vice president and assistant general manager. Cherington, of course, is now the Blue Jays’ vice-president of baseball operations.

Swihart should be allowed to sue John Farrell and Dave Dombrowski for the hash they made of his career. https://t.co/3ihzl9qXkh
