Teoscar Hernandez returns as the Blue Jays host the Atlanta Braves

The Blue Jays are inching closer and closer to operating at full strength.

Well, when it comes to their lineup, at least. They still have about a dozen injuries to their pitching staff, but, after activating George Springer on Wednesday, the Blue Jays will also welcome back Teoscar Hernandez from the COVID list on Friday when they host the Braves.
So, with Springer and Hernandez back, Charlie Montoyo will be able to put together an optimal Blue Jays lineup for the first time this season. What would that look like? I’m thinking…
Springer DH
Bichette SS
Vladdy 1B
Hernandez RF
Grichuk CF
Semien 2B
Biggio 3B
Gurriel LF
Kirk C
How they’re doing…
The Braves have had a very underwhelming start to their season. They sit 12-13, and while that’s enough for first place in the NL East, it’s a far cry from what you’d expect from a team who came within one win of reaching the World Series last year.
Just like pretty much everyone else, the Braves are dealing with a decimated pitching staff. They’re still without Mike Soroka (who underwent Tommy John surgery last year) and will be until at least …

Toronto Raptors: 3 contenders who could give the Raptors assets in a trade

Toronto Raptors: 3 contenders who could give the Raptors assets in a trade

The Toronto Raptors appear closer to selling than they have in years, as their eight-game losing streak has them looking at some of the top prospects in the 2021 NBA Draft instead of vying for a spot in the 2020-21 postseason.  With Kyle Lowry and Norman Powell trade rumors starting to really get kicked into […]

Rumours: FoligNO and the Buffalo Fire Sale

Here we are another week closer to the trade deadline, and still somewhat lost in the woods when it comes to what to expect with the trade deadline. Now that we’re just over a month from the deadline we can probably assume the U.S./Canada border won’t magically open up and it’s unlikely that the 14 day quarantine period will go away. With that in mind we will potentially see a lot less cross border shopping, and we’ll see some teams either shop early or decide not to shop at all. Considering that 14 day quarantine period from the trade deadline leaves 7 regular season games where the deadline rental would dress for the Leafs. If Toronto is going to pay a premium for a player, they are either going to want to bring in someone with term, a restricted free agent, or likely want to act early on rentals or get them for next to nothing.
It’s partially that criteria that makes the first rumour even more nonsensical than it already is.

Predicting the 2020-2021 Toronto Raptors starting lineup

Toronto Raptors basketball is much closer than we think (23 days), and there has yet to be any real talk of a starting lineup yet. The Toronto Raptors roster is pretty much set in stone — at least we think it is. Apart from at the Center position, the Raptors starting roster is not all […]

What will the Toronto Maple Leafs’ lineup look like on opening night?

The 2021 NHL season is inching closer and closer, and with that comes some discussion regarding who gets into the Toronto Maple Leafs opening night lineup.
Not just that, but what will Sheldon Keefe do with the defence pairings? The bottom-six? It all remains a mystery.
But in my latest video I try to figure out what the best options are for the Leafs. I explained my reasoning behind it, and to me, it’s the best lineup the Maple Leafs can ice whenever the next season starts.
Here it is:

Toronto Raptors: Should Raptors Target Montrezl Harrell in Free Agency?

Free agency is coming closer and closer, especially if you’re the Toronto Raptors who have been eliminated from the playoffs for a little while now. The Toronto Raptors have some decisions to make this off-season as they are in need of extending some of their key players. The only sure player I see them re-signing […]

Zach Hyman returns to Maple Leafs practice

As the NHL’s return to play inches closer each day, the Toronto Maple Leafs are filling out their opening night lineup. One name that has been absent for the team’s last few practices is Zach Hyman, who went down after blocking a shot from Jason Spezza on Friday. Fortunately, Hyman rejoined the Leafs’ main practice on Tuesday, saying he felt great.

Zach Hyman on his return to the ice: “It feels great to back, felt like it was longer than a couple of days mentally. Took a shot there [on Friday] so it was just precautionary, but I’m feeling good.”
— Kristen Shilton (@kristen_shilton) July 21, 2020

During his absence, Nick Robertson found himself filling Hyman’s spot alongside Auston Matthews and William Nylander. Although Robertson played very well during the team’s scrimmages, Hyman’s return is hugely beneficial to the Leafs.
Hyman already found himself back in his usual spot on the first line during practice, skating with Matthews and Mitch Marner. The fact that he felt it was longer than a couple of days just proves how eager he is to get these playoffs going. His return increases the Leafs …
