Jack Campbell, and the Leafs are very good at hockey

The Leafs defeat the Montreal Canadiens, again. William Nylander and Morgan Rielly with the goals that put Toronto over the top. You cannot forget about Jack Campbell who has a .951 save percentage after the first three games. That’s craziness.
Two more wins until they can eliminate the Habs. Can they do it? It’s very possible. I hope you enjoy today’s video!

Should the Leafs consider trading for Victor Olofsson?

Following Saturday’s defeat at the hands of the Bruins, the Sabres’ winless streak is now at 17 games, which is two away from setting an NHL record. That is 32 days between their previous win on February 23rd against the Devils. So to say that things are not going well in Buffalo these days would be putting it mildly.
Despite the foul stench that the organization is leaving, there are still plenty of intriguing pieces that contending teams might want to snag up before the trade deadline. Eric Staal has already been dealt with Montreal and many others (such as Taylor Hall, Sam Reinhart, Brendon Montour, and Jack Eichel) have been involved in trade rumours throughout the past few weeks. Considering how bad things have gotten, it is entirely possible that no player is safe and everyone could be on the move.
So for a team like the Leafs still looking to make a splash, the Sabres seem like the perfect trading partner due to the asking price of their players going down substantially. Hall may be the player garnering the most attention from the fanbase, but perhaps Victor Olofsson might be the better fit for the team both now and …

Maple Leafs blank Oilers in two-straight games – Rate That Leafs Game

So, again, the Maple Leafs defeat the Edmonton Oilers. And, again, Toronto shuts them out. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl both couldn’t solve Michael Hutchinson as he made 31 saves in this one.
William Nylander, aka Willy Styles, scored his fourth goal in three games, Zach Hyman and Morgan Rielly also added the other two goals.
Another incredible game for the Maple Leafs which now puts them even further ahead in the North Division. I hope you enjoy today’s video!

Frederik Andersen has NHL-leading 10th win of the season – Rate That Leafs Game

The Toronto Maple Leafs defeat the Ottawa Senators in a game that was, well, pretty uneventful. There was a lot of back-and-forth between them and the Ottawa Senators, but not a lot of goals to show from it.
Auston Matthews scored his 14th goal of the season, and that means it’s his 14th straight game with a point which is very good. Alexander Kerfoot also got on the scoresheet, scoring his third goal of the season (he now has four points in five games). And last but not least, we have to talk about Frederik Andersen who made 27 of 28 saves in his league-leading 10th win of the season.
Toronto looked like they came into this one forgetting about their last game, which is what they said they’d do. And it worked out in the end.
Unfortunately though, before the game we got some bad news regarding Rasmus Sandin who will now be out indefinitely after blocking a shot in Monday’s game against the Manitoba Moose in the AHL. Toronto Marlies Head Coach, Greg Moore, said he was day-to-day but it looks like it was worse that what they first thought.
Some good news after this game though …

Preseason Post-Game #3: Five takeaways from Win #1

Rejoice. The Leafs have proven they can defeat a beat a Buffalo team that featured none of its top players. A shutout is always nice so we won’t dwell on things like this game being meaningless, the rosters being mismatched, and just generally that beating Buffalo should always be expected. We’re going to focus on the win, and that a lot of the players we wanted to look good, looked pretty darn good.
Game Recap
The Leafs picked up a 3-0 win during their first true home game of September. Matthews scoring on a gift wrapped pass from Nylander is a nice reminder of what is to come this year, and Freddie Andersen is looking like he’ll be starting strong this year. All and all, a good Friday night. Here are the five key takeaways…
#1- Rasmus Sandin should be a Leaf
At this point we’re past Rasmus Sandin playing his way onto the Leafs and now it seems like he’s trying to make a case for playing his way into the top four.
It’s preseason and it’s easy to get carried away with how good players do against weak competition, but Sandin …
