Toronto Maple Leafs: 3 stars from week six of the season (November 14-20)

After entering week five on a five-game winning streak, the Toronto Maple Leafs fell to the Los Angeles Kings 5-1 on home ice and were determined to start a brand new winning streak the next game. Well, as we know, they ended the week going 3-0-0 against the Flyers, Flames, and Sabres which gave them a three-game winning streak heading into week six. Fast forward to last Tuesday, the Maple Leafs were ready to host a Nashville team that they haven’t seen in quite some time.
With another three-plus game-winning streak currently going on for the Maple Leafs, they were looking to extend it to four games as they played host to the Predators last week. They played yet another great 60-minute effort against that Nashville team as they picked up a 3-0 win, but it was much closer than it seemed as it was 1-0 for Toronto basically all game until the last four minutes of the third period when David Kampf potted home an insurance goal and then Marner followed it up with an empty-net goal to seal the deal.
Less than 48 hours later, they were set to host the New York Rangers for the second …

Should Rasmus Sandin stay in the Leafs lineup?

Should Rasmus Sandin stay in the Leafs lineup?

The Leafs have won, finally. After a five-game losing streak, Toronto’s big guns all came out firing. Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner with three points each, Jason Spezza with a goal assisted by Joe Thornton, and even Nick Foligno who got his first point as a Leaf.
But the most intriguing part to me is Rasmus Sandin. He’s played incredible with Toronto in his last few games but I get the sense that once Zach Bogosian is healthy, Sandin comes out of the lineup. I don’t like the idea of that, yet I feel like it’s inevitable.
In my video today, I discuss why he should stay in the lineup and also why I think he’ll be taken out. I hope you enjoy the it!

Series Preview: Where did the offense go?

The Blue Jays are currently on a five-game losing streak entering this series against the White Sox, and it has been extremely ugly over that stretch. This team has produced just three runs over their last four games. While they have also surrendered a total of 30 runs over that same span.
However, this offense may be able to turn things around a little bit during this upcoming series against the other team from Chicago that most people don’t even really care about. The White Sox pitching staff currently owns the 2nd-worst team-ERA in the AL. They have the highest opponents BA in the AL at .274, and they’re also tied for the most amount of free bases awarded in the AL as well. So this series should provide the Blue Jays a great chance to show exactly how bad this White Sox team is during this three-game series.

So apparently the Blue Jays can’t catch a break when it comes to untimely injuries this season. Clay Buchholz was suppose to open this series for the Blue Jays. But then it was announced earlier this morning, or late last night depending on what time you get …
