Toronto Raptors: Tampa Bay Buccaneers players show off Raptors fandom

The Toronto Raptors are still in the middle of their sabbatical in Tampa thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning that they’ve had to convince a bunch of Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Rays fans to put their Orlando Magic fandom aside and come on out to Amalie Arena. At the very least, they’ve won […]

Why the Myles Turner injury could push the Toronto Raptors to the playoffs

The Toronto Raptors are currently in the middle of a dogfight for one of the two play-in spots that could help them extend their playoff streak, with former assistant Nate Bjorkgren and the Indiana Pacers making up one of their more stern challengers. Their ability to win some games just took a major nosedive, however, given […]

EA Sports reveals details about new NHL 21 video game

Although the Stanley Cup playoffs are currently underway in the middle of August for the first time, in any other year, we would be in the middle of the offseason right now. On top of all the signings and moves that come with the offseason, hockey fans also use this time to look forward to the annual reveal of the newest EA Sports NHL video game.
Regardless of the fact that the hockey season is still going on, EA Sports has revealed their first trailer for their new NHL 21 video game, and it looks great.
Last year, Toronto Maple Leafs star centre Auston Matthews had the honour to grace the cover of NHL 20. This year, Washington Capitals star captain Alex Ovechkin will be the cover athlete. This is his second time on an EA Sports video game cover, after he was the cover athlete for NHL 07 as well. Check out the trailer below:

The short trailer mainly highlights Ovechkin as the cover star, but also showcases some new improvements, including updated graphics, new moves such as the “Michigan goal,” popularized by Andrei Svechnikov and Nikita Kucherov’s “no move” move, and a tease at an …

Justin Smoak heard Tim Mayza’s tendon pull off his bone from first base

Tim Mayza had surgery today to repair a torn UCL and torn flexor tendon in his left elbow. Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas. Grade 3 tear of each, so estimated return is spring training 2021. Tendon pulled off the bone so hard that Justin Smoak heard it at first base. #Bluejays

No idea what a tendon pulling off a bone sounds like, but I’m sure it’s not the most pleasant sound in a ballpark.
In an arena full of bat cracks and a catchers glove making a loud thud after a swing and miss, a pitcher’s arm tendon ripping itself from the bone mid-pitch might be one of the more gory clips of audio you could get.
The injury will keep Mayza out for the entire 2020 season, most likely aiming for a return for 2021 spring. The reliever has a 4.91 ERA and has a 9.6 K/9 through 51 and 1/3 innings this year.
When …
